Restaurant Night: Join us on Thursday, October 22nd, for our first restaurant night of the school year. We will be eating at Sweet Tomatoes, Beaverton. Simply bring this flier in from 5pm-8pm on Thursday October 22nd, and Sweet Tomatoes will donate 15% of the sales to our school. Please be advised you must purchase a drink and cannot hand out the fliers at the restaurant.
AUCTION TEAM NEEDS A TEAM MEMBER: We already have one committed parent we just need one more. We have a well-developed Auction team in need of a Co-lead. This position is a shared position that oversees 8 sub-groups, with 2-5 members per group, and keeps the project on track. Much of the planning is already underway, we simply need and organized individual to help keep things on track. There will be a timeline developed based on past events and information, but this is a self managing team that will give updates and reports to the PTO and School Board. The team will have the freedom to determine how often, where and how they meet. If you enjoy our annual auction and want to see this tradition continue help us find a parent to step-up and Co-lead this years auction. **As a reminder, save the date April 2nd**
Group Activity: See you at the Pumpkin Patch this Saturday, October 17th! We will be meeting at Oregon Heritage Farms between 10am – 2pm for some autumn activities – they have farm animals, pumpkins, a hay ride, an Apple Jump, and food for purchase if you want light lunch or hot apple cider. We will gather at a picnic table and you’ll see the Arco Iris Banner, and then explore the farm and participate in the activities (most activities -like the hay ride- are $3). Feel free to stop by with your families to visit with friends and classmates, and enjoy a perfect fall day at your leisure. Group Activity: Nutcracker Tea, is too great to miss. December 18th is our last day of school before winter break, the perfect day to kick up the holiday spirit with a family friendly dose of Nutcracker. The Nutcracker Tea is a shortened version performed by North West Dance Theatre after which cookies are handed out by the performers in costume. The performance is held at PCC Sylvania campus on December 18th at 7pm. Tickets go on sale on November 2nd and sell out very quickly, cost is $14-$30. This is not a fundraiser and the school will not benefit from any purchases. This is such a wonderful event and its so much fun to see other Arco Iris families. Arco Iris School Board looking for parents to join Strategic Planning Workgroup and Technology Workgroup. Strategic Planning Workgroup would proactively assist the Board in planning for the future of Arco Iris.
