Friday Updates – October 9, 2015

School Board Town Hall Coffee – The Arco Iris School Board has scheduled four town hall coffee and conversation meetings this year. The first one is coming up on October 22nd at 8:30 am. Hope to see you there! Town Hall Coffee

Jog-a-thon: Don’t forget packets and payments are due no later than Friday, October 16th at 9:00 am, to be counted for prizes. Corporate matches will be counted if documentation from the corporation is provided. See this week’s Jog-a-Thon reminder post for more details!

Auction Lead and Co-lead needed: In order to pull off our biggest fundraiser of the year, we need two parents to step up and lead this year’s auction and fiesta night. Our families and community look forward to this event every year, but we need a leader to make it happen. The position will work together to coordinate our 10+ member auction team. Some of the groundwork has already been done for this event, but we need dedicated parents to guide the team through the next steps. To guide this team and take on fantastic event, please Contact the PTO.

Fall Family Matinee: Don’t miss out on this Valley Theaters Fall Matinee Program. For just $10 you can get a ticket for you and your child to see 10 movies. For more information and to purchase tickets visit our online purchasing page for this event. We will also have tickets for sale at the school on Monday and Wednesday at pickup time. This event sold out last year, so get tickets while you can.

Boxtops for Education: The Boxtops for Education Company is running a sweepstake for extra 10,000 boxtops for our school. Enter here to try to win Arco Iris some extra money.

Pumpkin Patch Day: Come join us on Saturday, October 17th for an all-school pumpkin patch day! We will be meeting at Oregon Heritage Farms between 10am – 2pm for some autumn activities – they have farm animals, pumpkins, a hay ride, an Apple Jump, and food for purchase if you want light lunch or hot apple cider. We will gather at a picnic table and you’ll see the Arco Iris Banner, and then explore the farm and participate in the activities (most activities – like the hay ride- are $3). Feel free to stop by with your families to visit with friends and classmates, and enjoy a perfect fall day at your leisure. Their website is and if you have any further questions, please email the PTO.
