One of our fantastic runners is being cheered on by Principal Miles!

Jog-a-Thon! We loved seeing the rainbow of runners today. Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make the event a success! It was truly an “Arco Iris” on the field.  The students ran their hearts out; it’s time to support them with our donations. Donations are due in 2 weeks (10/16/15).  We’ve already received close to $10,000 from 75 fundraising pages. This is great progress towards our $45,000 goal! We can’t wait to see what color the students will choose for Principal Miles hair! Email jogathon@arcoirisschool.org if you have questions.

October Newsletter is here! October 2015 Newsletter  Please note the new afternoon pickup policy.

Los Jaguares Lectores – By now you should have received the new and improved reading log that is part of the new reading program that the PTO and our amazing teachers have been working so hard to improve this year.  Our students logged a total of 90,388 minutes this month! And 135 people used the new online form. You can find the online form HERE.

Individual prizes will be handed out on October 15th and this months winners of the class Golden “Stack of Books” trophy will be announced at the Spirit assembly on October 16th.

Please go to the Los Jaguares Lectores web page and let the PTO know what you think of the new program!

Auction Chair Needed – We are already a month into the school year and we are still in need of  someone to chair our 6th Annual Fiesta Night and Auction. For the past 6 years we have managed to get a member of our parent community to step up and lead this fundraising event, and we need this to continue. If you have experience running an auction, please donate your time and energy to this exciting event. We have a dedicated team of over 10 volunteers ready for a leader.

The Charter Renewal Committee had it’s first meeting recently. The UNOFFICIAL minutes are posted on the Committee page HERE. Please look for information coming soon regarding waiver applications to Oregon Department of Education (ODE) and a potential policy change. Please read the minutes for more information.  A public forum will be held to discuss these topics prior to the October 15th School Board Meeting.

PTO Officers Meeting – Our second PTO Officers Meeting of the school year will be held on Thursday October 8th at 2:30 pm. The agenda will be posted on the Agenda and Minutes page
