Jog-a-thon – One week remains until the Jaguares Jog-a-thon! The kids are excited. The weather looks like it will be nice! We are making progress towards our $45,000 goal. As of today, there are 41 individual fundraising pages (about 15% of the student population) and a total of $3,700 donated! The students cannot wait to dye Principal Miles’ hair!
Questions about the Jog-a-thon? Email our jog-a-thon team.
Looking to volunteer? Check Parentbooker for opportunities. Volunteers are still needed for many classes. If your child’s classes are full please check other classes. Show our students that we are stronger when we work together and that we are all on the same team…trying to earn the fun of watching Principal Miles dye her hair.
Community Event – Mazama Our Mazama event sold out this year! We look forward to seeing everyone this weekend! It can be chilly at that elevation, so dress in layers and bring warm clothes, pillow, and sleeping bags.

********Spirit Wear Day for October is now 10/23*******
Please note that the October Spirit Wear Day has been changed to October 23rd so as not to interfere with the Jog-A-Thon. Please be sure to dress your child in athletic wear and the appropriate color of t-shirt (not spirit wear) for the Jog-A-Thon.
Pumpkin Patch Day – Come join us on Saturday, October 17th for an all-school pumpkin patch day! We will be meeting at Oregon Heritage Farms between 10am – 2pm for some autumn activities – they have farm animals, pumpkins, a hay ride, an Apple Jump, and food for purchase if you want light lunch or hot apple cider. We will gather at a picnic table and you’ll see the Arco Iris Banner, and then explore the farm and participate in the activities (most activities – like the hay ride- are $3). Feel free to stop by with your families to visit with friends and classmates, and enjoy a perfect fall day at your leisure. Their website is http://www.oregonheritagefarm.com and if you have any further questions, please email the PTO.

Parking Lot Safety – It’s the time of year when everybody is in a rush to get kids in and out of school and off to the next activity. Several parents and staff members have expressed their concern at the rushing they see in the parking lot. Please remember that there are children in the parking lot, please slow down.
Also remember that we do not park in the parking spots on the east side of the playground. These spots do not have a barrier between them and the playground, and they are in an area when children play. The way the parking lot is designed it is incredibly difficult to see little bodies running around. For the safety of our children, please park in our designated parking area. Thank you!
