The Jog-a-thon is here! Your kids heard about it at the assembly last week! Jog-a-thon 2015 is just a little over 2 weeks away. Join us for one of the best events of the year, our school-wide Fall fundraiser, the Jaguares Jog-a-thon! We have a big goal this year – $45,000!! Join us as we work as a community to raise money to support Arco Iris School. Envelopes will be sent home soon, but everything you need to know is posted on the 2015 Jog-a-thon page. New this year – create a personal fundraising pages for each of your students (Student fundraising page) . Use the fundraising page to send emails, track donations, and send thank you notes! Also, new – take advantage of  Company Matching Donations to boost your student’s donation total.

Back To School Night is coming soon! Please note, this is a parents only event.

  • September 24, 6:00-7:45 p.m.
  • 6:00-6:45 Visit Grades 1-3 Classrooms
  • 6:45-7:15 Presentation in Gym, Visit Tables in Gym
  • 7:15-7:45 Visit Grades 4-8 Classrooms

You can visit more than one classroom during each session. Teachers will present information about classroom instruction, PBIS, homework expectations, and more.

Arco Iris Development Committee – Interested in getting involved in your student’s school? The Arco Iris Development Committee is looking for community members to help with grant writing and seeking donations from the community. The Development Committee is a committee of the Board and works year round on identifying, evaluating, and applying for grants, as well as supporting the PTO in fundraising efforts such as the jog-a-thon and auction. Works closely with the School Board, the administration, and PTO. If you are interested, please email board@arcoirisshool.org.

Arco Iris School Board Positions Open – The Arco Iris School Board is seeking applications for both a Finance and a Project Manager role on the Arco Iris School Board.

Job descriptions are attached. (Project Manager, facilities experience is preferred, but not required) project-manager-job-description and finance-project-description

  • Participation in the Governance of the school
  • Work with a great team of individuals on school impacting projects and build relationships with the school and local community
  • Children of school board members are eligible for priority in the lottery

Mazama’s – Last call for Mazama Lodge Weekend! We have almost sold out of beds.  You do not want to miss this opportunity to get away for a night, have someone else cook dinner and breakfast for you! Then they send you away with a sack lunch, so you can spend your day playing on the mountain. It is a great way to connect with other Arco Iris families and to make memories. Click here to get your space.

Parentbooker Update – This year has brought us an unusually high amount of sharing of accounts on Parentbooker.  We understand that this can be more convenient for some families, however please be advised that sharing can delay approval process. Shared accounts must have BOTH parties complete the background check before we can release the account to sign up for volunteer opportunities. Please contact our volunteer coordinator if you have any questions.

Parentbooker is where all of our volunteer opportunities are posted. Make sure you are on the list to get invited to be part of our events. It was great to see picture day fill up so quickly, lets keep that volunteering spirit going! Jog-a-thon is right around the corner and we still have a lot of slots that need to be filled.
