Friday Update – May 30, 2014

We have some great Community Events coming up:

Picnic in the Park – It’s this Sunday! Pack a picnic dinner and join us from 3:00pm – 7:00 pm at Schiffler Park for a giant Arco Iris play date in this recently renovated beautiful park located just blocks from the school. We have the pavilion and picnic tables reserved and are looking forward to seeing you there!

Hillsboro Hops Baseball Game – Thursday, July 3rd, at 7:05 pm. Join other Arco Iris families in our reserved section of the stadium to cheer on the Hops as they will surely defeat the Everett AquaSox. This game will conclude with an amazing fireworks show that alone is worth the price of admission. Seats are $11 each and to secure your spot at the game now please drop your check, made out to Arco Iris, in the PTO drop box outside the office door. Your tickets will be held at will call the night of the game, so if you need your tickets held in a name other than the name on your check please note that on the memo line. See you at the game!

Mazamas Lodge Overnighter – Friday, September 19th. The historic Mazamas Lodge on Mt. Hood near the turnoff for Timberline Lodge will be all ours for the night and is the perfect setting for enjoying the best that the mountain has to offer in September. There are many hiking trails and opportunities for exploring the area, including huckleberry picking at the peak of its season on the mountain. The cost per person is $30, which includes lodging for the night, dinner Friday night, and breakfast and lunch on Saturday. The lodge capacity is 70, but they allow tent camping on the grounds outside the lodge if we exceed capacity or by choice. So reserve your spots now by dropping a check for the number of attendants in your family, made out to Arco Iris, in the PTO drop box outside the office and please write “Mazamas” in the memo line.

If not you then who?
Unlike other schools the money raised from our PTO goes directly to keeping the lights on and offering a school for our children to attend.  The PTO Positions are very important to supporting our children, teachers and staff. The school year is ending and time is ticking.  We are still without volunteers in some important positions. Your child/children school needs you. Click here to find out where help is needed.

Last Chance:

Please check the lost and found for any articles of clothing that your student may have left behind.  We have dozens of jackets, sweaters, water bottles and personal items.  The items are in the lobby area, across for the doors that lead to the gym.  Please feel free to check during drop off or pick up – or if you happen to be here for a field trip.  ALL ITEMS WILL BE DONATED ON JUNE 2ND TO CHARITY.

Last day of school:  Buenas Tardes -June 13,2014
June 13 , 2014 is a half day with classes ending at 11:30am. On that day, Buenas Tardes will be open at 7:00am like every day. The afternoon program, from 3:45-6:00pm WILL NOT be in session. Please make sure to make pertinent child care arrangements for that day as we will not be accepting any children to stay past pick up on that day. The latest you can pick up your child is 12:00PM. If your student with us after 12:00,  we will call emergency contacts to pick up your student.
