Too Sick for School – We have had an increasing number of sick students at school that have gone home early AND returned the next day with similar symptoms and slight fevers. We need our sick students to stay home, as we are seeing an increase in the number of sick students we have daily. If your child has a fever or vomits, s/he must stay home for 24 hours after their symptoms (unmedicated) are gone. Our custodian is again disinfecting the classrooms. With the norovirus and influenza spreading throughout the Portland area, we need your help to keep our kids safe and healthy.

Break Room Stocking – Thank you to our 4th grade families for generously keeping the staff and teacher break room stocked with tasty snacks and beverages during the month of January! The teachers and staff appreciate being able to quickly and conveniently grab a snack or make a fresh cup of coffee during the day, and keeping it stocked is so easy when we share the task. Each grade will take turns stocking the break room and the 5th grade families will be taking over for the month of February. Families of 5th grade students should check e-mail for information about this, or check out this signup genius. Thank you for participating in this important volunteer opportunity!
This year’s Science & Engineering Fair is coming soon, and it is going to be a great event! This showcase of our students’ talents takes a bit of work behind the scenes to make it a success. We need a number of volunteers to help, from handing out display boards to being a science fair judge. You can sign up for any of these volunteer jobs by visiting our volunteer site. If you have questions, please contact Kirstin Pinit.
