Mother Nature has blown in some surprises for us this week! The kids were excited to see snow this morning, and were a bit disappointed there wasn’t enough to cancel school. Stay warm out there, and please drive safely!
Immediately after the PTO meeting on Friday December 13th, stick around for the Auction Committee meeting! We would love to hear your ideas on how to make this a successful night. Can’t make the meeting but would like to be involved? Please e-mail Co-Chairs Sarah Coakley and Alison Money.

Speaking of the recital – we hope you are all as excited as the teachers and staff are to see our amazing students at next week’s Winter Recital! Several people have dedicated many hours to choreography, planning, costuming, and teaching but a little more help is needed to finish pulling off this festive night. We need 10 volunteers who can arrive early to set up chairs and hang decorations, and another 10 who can stay late to put chairs away and take down the decorations. This is our first time to be guests at Fir Grove and food will not be served so there will be no food mess to clean up. Set up volunteers should arrive at 5:45, clean up can start as soon as the performance is finished. From 6:00 to 6:30 greeters are also needed to hand out programs as families arrive. Please sign up here if you can lend a hand.
Consejo de padres meeting will be held next Wednesday, December 11 6:30 pm. The meeting is open for parents to attend. The meeting will be focused on joining and operating under the PTO. If you have anything you would like to contribute to the meeting please join us or e-mail. Please include your name and your child’s teacher.
Report card update – As you may know, Arco Iris is now required to use the new proficiency based, Beaverton School District report card. Because it is new to the district, there have been many challenges with finalizing it and rolling it out to every school. Additionally, and critical to Arco Iris, there was no Spanish component and no middle school component. We have been working tirelessly with BSD since last school year to get these finalized. It looks like it may be the end of next week before we get a usable format that will populate with BSD data and print. Thank you for your patience!
