Do Arco Iris students receive art instruction? Why yes! Come see their work the art show tomorrow!
You will see beautiful works by all our students. First and second grade classes created abstract watercolor paintings inspired by Spanish artist Joan Miro–an artist known for his whimsical, kid-friendly designs. Third and fourth grade classes will display Picasso-inspired Cubist portraits on display. Fifth and sixth graders will be showing off their paper mache Oaxacan animal sculptures, inspired by the infamous wood-carved sculptures of the Oaxaca region of Mexico. Also on display will be realistic self-portraits by students grades 1-4. These portraits were inspired by Mexican artist Frida Khalo, who is best known for her striking self-portraiture.
Come celebrate the hard work these young artists have put into their work the past four months!
