Arco Iris’ Student-Made Bilingual Podcast!

Queridas familias de Arco Iris –

This is Maestra Nikki inviting you to listen to Arco Iris’ first student-made bilingual podcast! It’s less than ten minutes long and includes student interviews, class songs and fun facts.

To produce this podcast, Five talented 4th and 5th graders met with me after school to share ideas, record and edit content. We got ideas from other podcasts, and decided what to include in our own podcast. Together we brainstormed interview questions, voted on content and wrote a script.

These students should be congratulated for their ability to create, problem-solve, and see this project to the end. They are Caitlynn Lee, Maddy Kelly, Julian Calderon, Hannah Mayfield, and Gus Doty.

Learning how to use Garageband was educational for the students and myself. It was a challenge to record and edit things properly, which is why we anticipated the podcast to be done by the end of February. In the end, these creative students are able to use Garageband to produce their own podcasts.

Stay tuned for one more podcast, this year.  A new group has been selected to be Podcasting Jaguars and we’ll be starting the brainstorming process soon.

Thanks for listening!  Maestra Nikki
